Granita System
Granita: A giant star of some nine solar masses that has only recently left its main sequence. The star is of great interest to Confed simply because it is one of the few opportunities on the jump network to study a star up close before it goes supernova.
Granita I: A planet that is 15,000 km in diameter, and orbits a mere 1 A.U. from the star. Over the past few million years, the planet’s surface has heated to the point of it being molten. There is no activity around or on the planet.
Granita II: A hot house world, much like Venus, that orbits 2.2 A.U. from Granita. Surface pressure is 113 bars, and the planet is almost as large as Earth. The atmosphere is all carbon dioxide, and as the star heats, it will be blown off into space. No activity
Granita III: A desert world that is 8,000 km in diameter. It orbits at 4.1 A.U. The planet may have had short lived oceans, but they have long since boiled away. The planet has rich veins of metals, and a shallow gravity well. Before the Kilrathi War began, a few groups of prospectors have reached this far into the Epsilon Sector and set up small communities. The domed craters were abandoned as the Kilrathi swept across the sector. Some refugees maybe hiding on the planet, but no activity is detected.
Granita IV: A Neptune-sized gas giant that orbits as 8.3 A.U. It has 15 small moons, most captured asteroids, but one the size of Pluto. On this moon, and in orbit of the planet, the Kilrathi have set up shop in the system. They use the planet as a refueling stop, and IV-A (four-eh, or called Foray by Confed) to house two squadrons of Vaktoth fighters to defend ships that scoop up hydrogen from the planet. This sort of garrison duty is manned by inexperienced pilots, cubs just out of flight school.
Granita V: Another Neptune-sized world orbiting at 15.2 A.U. It has seven small moons, the largest only 100 km in diameter. There is no activity detected around this world.
Asteroids: Though there is no defined asteroid belt, Granita has ten times as many orbit-crossing rocks as Sol (mainly due to its younger age). The largest of these asteroids, larger than Foray, is known to be home to a Mandarin colony, that willingly collaborates with the Kilrathi in the system. The asteroid is called Cathay by Confed, as well as the locals. Among the locals are a number of Confederation Armed Forces deserters, as well as early war fighters, such as Firecats and Hornets.

Veronica System
Veronica: An orange star, with spectral class of K5. The star is estimated at seven billion years of age and possesses less metals than Sol.
Veronica I: A small, airless, rocky body that orbit at 0.21 AU. At this distance, the planet is actually tidally-locked with Veronica. The planet is not much larger than Luna.
Veronica II: The lone habitable planet in the system. It is half the mass of Earth with an atmosphere very much like the homeworld. It orbits at 0.42 AU. The planet is one of the Border Worlds, a fringe collection of worlds not wanting to be part of the Confederation. It is home to 37 million humans.
Veronica III: A rocky, “super Earth”, with three times Earth’s mass. The planet has a thin, toxic atmosphere, and is rich in minerals. Some 240k Border Worlders are scattered across the planet in mining colonies. The planet is 0.71 AU out from its star. It is orbited by two moonlets, between 150 and 350 km in diameter.
Veronica IV: An orange colored sub-giant, some 31 times the size of Earth. It serves as the fuel for the Border Worlds’ power needs in the system. It orbits at 3.7 AU, and has six moonlets, between 150 and 900 km in diameter. An orbital fuel depot serves as base for scoop ships.
Veronica V: The largest planet in the system, it is pale yellow and white with a small system of rings surrounding it. The planet is largely ignored, and has 3 real moons and 7 moonlets in orbit around it. (7.0 AU)
Veronica VI: The outermost planet is an icy giant, pale blue and with a lone moon. It orbits at 11.4 AU. The moon is home to a recently established Early Warning Station for the Kilrathi in th Granita System. In orbit around the moon is a supply depot for ships operating in the system. It is so new, that it is not even on Confed’s star charts.
